Registration in the Regional Register of Basilicata
Regional Register of Associations and Federations Operating in Italy and Abroad
The Regional Law No. 16 of 2002, “General Regulation of Interventions in Favor of Lucanians Abroad,” aims to implement forms of solidarity and protection for emigrant workers and their families. It seeks to promote cultural exchange among emigrants to support and strengthen their original identity and to reinforce connections with their homeland. Additionally, it facilitates the reintegration of emigrants returning to Basilicata into social life and regional economic activities, and it provides for the establishment and funding of agreements, accords, and protocols with regions affected by immigration, starting with academic institutions.
Within the framework of this important law in favor of Lucanians worldwide, the Regional Register of Associations has been established and regulated.
Registration Procedures for the Regional Register
According to the Law, to apply for registration in the Regional Register, Associations and their Federations must submit an application to the President of the Regional Council, accompanied by a copy of their Statute and a list of members. Lucanian Associations must register with their national Federation. Federations may be established in Italian regions where two or more associations are active. New Associations with headquarters in cities where one or more Lucanian Associations are already registered may apply for registration only if they have at least 100 members.
